Description

For six months, the camera became a part of the daily lives of these kids. In the beginning it was all about getting to know the ins and outs of manoeuvring the camera in the way needed for this documentary. A crash course in filming. “How do you make a film?“ “What do I want to tell people?“ 'How do I explain the experience of having a second home country?' These are some questions that Suleyman, Sinan, Suzan, Juthamas and Galina had to deal with. In government housing buildings, at the volleyball game, on the school grounds, at the “amazing” shopping center or during the prayer time in the children’s personal space - You can see everywhere that integration is a question of communication. The result, a 70 minutes film that gives personal insights into the lives and dreams of young people whose origins exist in the traditions and ways of a foreign country.
The way these kids find their joys and motivation for living, in such a bleak and shrinking town, both surprises and inspires.
